Boilerplate — copy and paste

The Handy Calculators is an independent, ad-supported calculator site publishing free, no-signup tools for money, real estate, home improvement, health, time, education and unit conversions. Our belief is simple: every day is filled with decisions, and most decisions rest on a calculation — so we build the tools for the calculations that matter. Every calculator is built or reviewed by founder and editor Larius Woodson — a licensed real estate broker and Realtor in North Carolina, and a commercial real estate appraiser for a Florida county property appraiser's office. The site also publishes free embeddable calculator widgets used by contractor and real estate websites.

The Handy Calculators Launches Free Embeddable Calculator Widgets for Contractors and Real Estate Professionals

Contractors, real estate agents and other small businesses can now embed professional-grade calculators on their own websites with two lines of HTML — at no cost. Widgets cover the questions customers ask before they ever pick up the phone: what a mortgage payment looks like, how much paint a room needs, what a concrete slab costs. Partners who want reporting can join the free partner portal to request embed codes, see how often their widgets are viewed and used, and track which sites are live; approved partners can move to paid licensing tiers for unbranded and white-label use. Embed code and setup instructions are at thehandycalculators.com/widgets.

“Every day is filled with decisions, and most decisions rest on a calculation. Contractors and agents already answer these questions for customers every day. Now the calculator on their website can start the conversation before the first phone call.” — Larius Woodson, founder & editor

Story angles we can speak to

Every decision is really a calculation

Our lives are filled each day with decisions, and decisions are based on calculations. That is the whole reason the site exists: to give people the tools for the calculations that matter — what a house really costs, what a paycheck really nets, what a project really takes. We can speak to how ordinary people make numeric decisions and where they get stuck.

What a county appraiser sees that homeowners don't

Larius negotiates settlement agreements with attorneys representing property owners and defends assessed values at Value Adjustment Board hearings. That work shapes how the real estate calculators on the site handle taxes, cap rates and hold-period assumptions — a useful angle for property tax, appeal-season and homeownership-cost stories.

Why free calculators still get the math wrong

Most calculator pages copy a formula without stating the simplifying assumptions behind it. Every page here documents its assumptions in plain language. We can walk a reporter through concrete examples where common online calculators diverge from lender or assessor math.

Embeddable widgets as small-business marketing

Contractors, agents and handymen embed our calculators on their own sites in two lines of HTML. We can share anonymised patterns on which tools small businesses actually put in front of customers, and what that says about how people shop for trade services.
